Happy Day, Happy Day! The sun it out and its here to stay! #BARS
Today I want to share my thoughts on my current season of waiting with y’all. I recently completed my undergrad and stepped into this weird in-between season of my life where nothing is really happening and I am really enjoying it! I am not in medical school yet and I am single as a pringle but I really think I am the best version of myself right now. If you are in a similar season here are some things I have learnt that might help you!
Trust The Process
Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
Faith is huge when waiting. Regardless of what you are waiting for, having faith in something bigger than you is extremely comforting. We recently discussed trusting God and this is a major key. If you fundamentally believe that God is a good, faithful God, which I do, then you have to believe that there is a reason you are in your current position and it will ultimately be for the glory of God.
Try something new
There is no better time to experiment than the present! I don’t think I am very adventurous person but I also realize that I am not going to be 22 and single with free time and expendable income for the rest of my life! You are not going to be in this season of life forever so try something new, whats the worst thing that could happen? If you are not where you want to be it probably means that what you have been doing in the past doesn’t work. Mix it up, experiment! That being said, be wise. You want to make it to the next season.
I listened to a great podcast by Rich Wilkerson Jr. at Vous Church in Miami and he was discussing the story of Joseph. Rich shared saying: “God placed Joseph in the PIT to prepare him for PRISON which molded him for the PALACE”. I WAS SHOOK! God doesn’t make mistakes. You have been placed where you are right now for a reason. Be content with that and let God prepare you for the palace!
Just because you are practicing contentness in your situation does not mean that you can stop striving. It is really important to keep you eyes on the prize and make sure you are working towards something. Be content, not complacent. I love making vision boards and planning out the next few months. It’s a nice reminder of what I’m working for. If it doesn’t work it out, something else will.
Seasons don’t last forever!
