Good morning loves,
I hope you are all having a great week so far! As you all know, Spring has finally sprung! Well it sprung a while ago and while we are excited for the season, I know that a lot of you can relate when I say that the weather this year has not been very Spring-y. I live in Calgary and guys, there is still snow on the ground… and its the middle of April! Sheeesh. Today’s blog post will be giving you some style tips on How to dress for spring when it is still cold outside.
How To Dress for Spring When It Feels Like Winter
1.Wear Light Layers
This one is a no brainer! The weather is constantly fluctuating, so you want to wear pieces that you can easily take off or add as the weather changes. The difference between dressing for winter and spring is that you can drop your thick sweaters and coats and opt for lighter layers!
2. Keep Rocking your boots
Seriously guys, you don’t need to wear sandals for the love . The great thing is that because it is technically no longer winter, a lot of stores have started doing sales on their boots. This is a great time to buy boots if you have been looking. For more on our favourite boot trends, you can check out THIS post.
3. Add one spring item to your outfit
You can make your outfit look more Spring-y by adding a spring inspired item. This can be a nice accessory- a necklace, a purse, even if its just your smile, anything it takes to make you feeling warm on the inside!
4. Wear Light Colours
You can swap out your darker winter toned clothing for lighter colours. Instead of wearing dark washed jeans, maybe try light jeans. Trade in your blacks and dark greys for whites and light greys. The pastels are not going anywhere this spring, so make sure to stock up on those tones. For more inspiration on how to rock pastels and nude tones, check out THIS post.
