So last night was the 75th annual Golden Globe Awards. I unfortunately was not able to attend due to a busy schedule so instead I sat in bed in my pyjamas, worked on my thesis, and admired all the stunning women who wore black to stand in solidarity with women around the world dealing with sexual harassment. Everyone in black has a beautiful heart and therefore they are winner in my book but there were a few dresses that took my breath away, so here I am to share some of my favourites Golden Globes dresses with you!
I know what you’re thinking: why was Kendal Jenner, a model, at the Golden Globes?
My answer for you is: Kendall can go wherever she wants in this beautiful dress! In-fact, please wear it to my wedding Kenny!
More like Issa BAE! Am I right? (I saw that on twitter and though it was cute). Issa was the definition of melanin poppin at the Golden Globes. She looked STUNNING. And look at that slit! Keep it up Issa. You’re doing a great job!
Reese Witherspoon is someone who I truly believe can do no wrong. I deeply admire the stance she has taken with the Times Up movement and I know for a fact that Elle Woods would be proud.
I truly have no idea who Nikki Reed and I don’t care to find out. All I know is that this dress is beautiful and so is she. I love the gold embellishment and I will definitely be on a hunt for something similar in my price range. She put the Golden in Golden Globes…. 🙂
Please grab a cup of tea and get comfy for this segment.
I have loved Oprah for as long as I can remember. When I was a kid my mom and I would watch Oprah and if the episode got really intense or risqué my mom would as me to leave the room and I would perch on the stairs and listen in #rebel. I remember thinking she was so beautiful, and so talented and so powerful! Her signature hairstyle and commanding demeanour were hypnotizing! How could you not lover her!
It wasn’t until a little later that I realized that not everyone loved her. Not everyone loved black women.
I was raised very privilege with fantastic role models who taught me that I could do anything that I set my mind to. As an adult I am tragically aware that not all little black girls are as fortunate as I. They didn’t all have mothers, sister and aunties to pave a path for them. All they had was Oprah, and she never disappointed. She has been a light in darkness and a voice of peace for a long time.
Oprah Winfrey deserves everything good this world has to offer and she looks FLAWLESS in this custom Versace.
Thank you to all the powerful women who decided that enough is enough and are making moves for a better world that I would be blessed to raise a daughter in!
